So who woke up this morning with a ring on her finger??? If you received the proposal without the ring then no doubt you are already at the jeweller!!
Congratulations to all of you who received a romantic proposal last night, and it's now time to think about the all important wedding. How many guests, when shall we do it, shall we stay in the UK or plan something overseas, how much is it all going to cost, who will perform the ceremony? – so much to think about

I was invited to the most fabulous birthday brunch party at Balthazar London this morning which was topped off by the most delicious birthday cake created by Claudia Rose. I just loved all those gorgeous coloured meringue flowers. The cake not only looked stunning but tasted amazing!!
Would be perfect for a Wedding celebration. Let them eat cake!!
So, according to the Met Office, today marks the official start of the autumn. And we just love this time of year… it’s the start of the winter wedding season.
Autumn and winter weddings naturally have a very different feel to hot and sunny summer celebrations but are an opportunity to create a magical and perfect day. We love to explore themes and ideas with our clients - truly sumptuous settings can be created using rich, jewel tones or wintery whites and ivories with beautiful natural green garlands. And of course, candles, candles and more candles.
And so, as this has been a summer of gorgeous destinations, are a few more of my favourite places, perfect for weddings, honeymoons or just some pre-nuptial relaxation.
Finca Cortesin and Cap Rocat
Brides Magazine recently published their 10 best honeymoon beaches for 2016. The beaches are, as you would expect, in fabulously exotic and beautiful far flung places including French Polynesia, Mexico and Seychelles.
We absolutely agree that these destinations are wonderful, but also think that you don’t have to travel long-haul to find a gorgeous seaside retreat. Here are a few which we love, and which prove that you don’t have to go too far to relax in the sun.
Spaggia del Laurito, Positano
Last weekend I visited the very beautiful Slaugham Place in Sussex to celebrate the wedding of the daughter of a dear friend. This glorious setting incorporates the Grade II listed ruins of an Elizabethan manor house with it’s gorgeous gardens, moat and wooden bridge. It was a magical place for an enchanting wedding.
The bride in question is a beautiful, slim, very quirky, 30-something and she chose 6 of her best friends to be her bridesmaids. Whilst it is so great to be able to include your best friends to play such an important part in your special day, it is an area that can be fraught with sartorial danger. The main problem when dressing your adult bridesmaids is that one size/shape/style/length/colour very rarely fits all. And we have all seen the results of getting this wrong.
What a fabulous week so far.
Yesterday we finally manage to get a reservation at the much sought after Kitty Fisher's restaurant in Shepherd's Market, Mayfair. Delicious food stylishly presented and beautifully served - crab, burratta with honey, gazpacho, duck and beef plus fab coffee. Great place to take for a fun evening, privately for about 18.
And today I have had privilege of visiting the incredible London Maison of Ralph and Russo to see some of their breathtaking Evening Couture Collection – stunning Bridal and really special Occasion exquisite creations.
